After Facial Do’s & Don’ts

  • Don’t apply makeup or use certain skincare products for 12-24 hours, if possible.

Your skin has just been deeply cleansed and exfoliated revealing fresh new skin cells that are more delicate and need to be treated with care. Avoid wearing complexion makeup and do not use retinols, scrubs, or toners containing active ingredients for 24 hours.

  • Do use your recommended skincare routine for your skin type

During the skin analysis portion of your facial, the best at-home routine for your skin type and goals will be determined and play an important part in continuing your results.

  • Don’t pick your skin

During the service everything that is ready to be extracted will be, so if you find yourself trying to squeeze every blackhead or spot, you risk scarring and spreading bacteria. This will in turn cause more breakouts and need further treatments to correct.

  • Do book a follow up treatment

In order to keep ahead of future breakouts and further your treatment results, regular facials will ensure that your progress continues, and we reach your skin care goals.

  • Don’t work out and avoid saunas

Increased heat in the skin can cause irritation and sensitivity. So workout before your facial and enjoy the pampering post-sweat or skip it for the day.

  • Do enjoy light activity

Basic yoga or a leisure walk are great alternatives post-facial

  • Don’t spend time in the sun

Depending on the type of treatment such as a chemical peel, dermaplaning or use of retinols your skin will be especially sun-sensitive for 24 hours.

  • Do take caution if sun exposure is unavoidable

Staying out of the sun is your best bet, but if unavoidable wear the G.M. Collin SPF 50, and a hat with sunglasses if you have them handy.
